Strange is positioned to receive a larger receiving workload in 2026 after missing time in 2025. Head coach Liam Coen noted that when Strange has production, the Jaguars' record improves, and the addition of Nate Boerkircher as a blocking-capable complementary tight end will allow Strange to avoid one-on-one matchups against elite edge rushers like Travon Walker and Josh Hines-Allen. Instead, Strange will be matched up more on linebackers and safeties, creating an offensive advantage. Coen stated: 'allowing Brenton to continue to do what he does well, but also to maybe take some of that wear and tear, some of the pounding that it takes when you're blocking the Travon Walkers of the world and Josh Hines-Allens of the world, getting him matched up more on those linebackers and safeties and now he's an advantage for us.'
