Spears is a handcuff option behind Tony Pollard, who has averaged more than 290 touches per season over the last three years and is heading into his age-29 season, increasing injury risk with each passing season. Spears brings a three-down skill set and has averaged just over 42 receptions across his first three NFL seasons with above 1.2 YPRR in each year—a solid mark for an RB. However, Jonathan Fuller ranks Spears lower on the handcuff list for two reasons: first, Cam Ward might not be very good, which would limit the upside of the offense and rushing game; second, the Titans drafted intriguing late-round rookie Nicholas Singleton, who could emerge down the stretch and add uncertainty to Spears' upside.
