Vokolek is retiring at age 28 due to a serious neck injury suffered in Week 6 of the 2025 season on the road against the Indianapolis Colts. During a kickoff play, he was pushed by Colts linebacker Segun Olubi, landed wrong, and hit the ground awkwardly; both arms were strapped down on the stretcher and he was carted off the field. He ended up on injured reserve and the Cardinals did not tender him a contract in the offseason, making him a free agent. He had played three seasons for Arizona, appearing in four of the first five games of 2025 with 32 offensive snaps and 45 special teams plays, primarily as a TE3 with special teams duties.
