Metcalf got going late, connecting with Aaron Rodgers on a few deep balls in the fourth quarter. Those passes pushed him over the century mark for the first time this season, as his 155 air yards ranked fifth among all players in Week 4. Against a man-heavy Cleveland defense that deploys a ton of single-high, the Steelers were more aggressive with their usage of Metcalf. He ran go routes a season-high 34% of the time in this game.

STACKED’s take

Positive signalMatchup

Metcalf's 155 air yards and 34% go-route rate signal explosive upside in favorable matchups.

Metcalf ranked 5th in air yards (155) in Week 4 after connecting with Aaron Rodgers on deep balls in the fourth quarter, his first time surpassing 100 air yards this season. Against Cleveland's man-heavy defense with single-high safety looks, Pittsburgh deployed Metcalf on go routes at a season-high 34% rate to exploit the lack of safety help over the top. While the Steelers have favored crossing routes for Metcalf this season, the right matchup will still trigger aggressive downfield usage.
