Croskey-Merritt positioned for edge-run success against Giants' soft spot in run defense.

The source identifies Croskey-Merritt as a key weapon for attacking the Giants' edge run defense; the Commanders' offensive coordinator David Blough can use him off the edges successfully in Week 5. The Giants are strong against inside runs due to their size at nose tackle and inside linebackers, but vulnerable on edge runs and D-gap runs. Croskey-Merritt will benefit from outside-zone runs designed to give him free lanes, with blocking support from tight ends John Bates and Ben Sinnott and wide receiver Treylon Burks on crack-back blocks to flatten Giants' defensive backs in space.
