STACKED’s take
Waddle's 5-target, 2-catch, 19-yard game despite Payton's return confirms he's no longer a WR2.
Despite Sean Payton's return to play-calling duties, Waddle ended up with just five targets and caught two of them for 19 yards against the Chargers in Week 5. This marks his third game with fewer than six fantasy points. Outside of his eight-catch, 138-yard performance against Jacksonville, Waddle has just 10 catches on 21 targets for 66 yards in his other four games, scoring fewer fantasy points than Kalif Raymond, Darius Cooper, Jakobi Meyers or Tre Tucker. He cannot be viewed as a WR2 anymore and should not be viewed as a starter until he puts together more than one decent game in a row. Bo Nix has not been productive, the receiving pecking order in Denver has been chaotic, and Waddle has not shown the catch volume or touchdown upside to be trusted in your lineup.
