NFL.com News on Mike Evans

Evans' 7-113-1 on tight windows shows he's still elite at 33 with ribs injury.

Evans, 33 years old and dealing with a ribs injury, caught 7 of 10 targets for 113 yards and a TD against the Seahawks, with the rest of the 49ers' receivers combining for only 76 receiving yards and a score. Five of Evans' seven catches were tight-window throws (less than 1 yard of separation) per Next Gen Stats, demonstrating he remains unguardable even when covered. Kyle Shanahan stated after the 32-29 win: 'That's exactly why he's here,' confirming Evans brings the true X-receiver element the 49ers offense had been missing.
