Mixon joining Seahawks practice squad to address RB depth amid injuries.

Veteran running back Joe Mixon is expected to sign with the Seahawks practice squad to add depth at a position dealing with injury concerns. Coach Mike Macdonald confirmed the team had Mixon in for a workout and said he is "going through the process" of joining the practice squad, with the signing expected after Mixon passes physicals. Macdonald stated "We're down runners. We need running backs. He's a good running back." Mixon has made two Pro Bowls in an eight-year NFL career and rushed for 1,016 yards with a 4.1 per carry average in 2024 for Houston before suffering a foot injury that sidelined him for the 2025 season.
