Wilson's role varies by matchup in the Jets' versatile, talent-laden offense.

Tim Patrick, in his first year with the Jets, highlighted Garrett Wilson as a key part of the Jets' offensive versatility; Patrick noted that Wilson won't necessarily get 10 catches every game because the offense has so much talent that game plans will vary week-to-week based on matchup needs—sometimes running 30+ times, sometimes passing more. This reflects Wilson's role as a primary target but within a deep, multi-faceted offense.
