Jameis Winston dropped back 60 times against Washington, throwing 54 passes. That's too many, but being a bit less 1940s '3 yards and a cloud of dust' reliant is likely a good idea.

Winston's 54-pass game shows Giants may need more tempo and pass volume.

Winston dropped back 60 times against Washington, throwing 54 passes; while that volume is excessive, the Giants' shift toward more tempo and pass-heavy play in the second half and overtime was effective in opening up the offense, and this approach may need to become a regular part of the offensive strategy going forward rather than relying on the run game.
