Perine's increased carries (14 vs. Brown's 13) threaten Brown's draft-day value.
Brown has been one of the more disappointing running backs in fantasy football this season, and his workload is now a concern. Samaje Perine rushed for 68 yards on 14 carries against Miami in Week 5, adding two catches for 10 yards and a touchdown, actually outcarrying Brown 14-13. This is a concerning development for anyone counting on Brown to deliver RB1 production. While Brown still has an important role in the passing game, it will be tough for him to live up to his draft-day price if Perine continues to take away early-down touches. The Bengals' bye in Week 6 gives the coaching staff time to evaluate the backfield.
