Williams' Week 1 showed evolved decision-making; return should unlock explosive plays.

Williams played one full game this season (Week 1 vs. Carolina) and looked like an evolved version of his 2025 self; he didn't put the ball in harm's way, kept the offense on schedule, took shot plays when available but opted for checkdowns and layups when they weren't. The Bears scored 59 points and ranked fourth in passing play success rate despite an excellent run game. Williams' return should solve most of the Bears' offensive issues, particularly the lack of explosive plays (20th in explosive play rate Weeks 3-5 vs. 7th in 2025) and downfield passing that the backup quarterbacks couldn't sustain.
