Negative signalRole

Dalton's Week 3 INT and poor performance make him unlikely to return as backup.

Andy Dalton was initially brought in as the Eagles' third quarterback but took bulk second-team reps during OTAs, eventually becoming Hurts' backup. He was thrust into action in Week 3 against Chicago and threw an interception on his only pass attempt in a goal-to-go situation; the source calls it a terrible decision by a veteran turning 39 in late October. Dalton mostly stunk it up since joining the Eagles and was no good for the Carolina Panthers in 2025. The source suggests there's no good reason to bring Dalton back as a backup option.
