Yahoo Sports NFL on Jameis Winston

Winston's zero deep shots and conservative route design limit his ability to showcase talent in Nagy's offense.

Winston had zero pass attempts beyond 20 yards and only two pass attempts outside the hash marks at intermediate depths against one of the poorer pass defenses in the NFL; the source criticizes Matt Nagy's ultra-conservative, unimaginative offense for not distributing the ball effectively, featuring mostly contested catch opportunities and flat passes with no blockers rather than high-low combinations and intermediate crossers typical of explosive offenses. The source concludes Winston is not being given a fair chance to show what he can do in this restrictive scheme.
