Walker stuffed at goal line; blocking breakdown on Power run in short-yardage situation
Walker was stuffed at the goal line on fourth-and-goal from the one-yard line against the Chargers, a failed short-yardage conversion that kept Kansas City from putting the game away in the third quarter. Reid's analysis revealed the blocking breakdown: left tackle Kahlil Benson failed to 'get a body on a body' on the Power run, with Los Angeles' No. 92 getting past Benson's down-block attempt and blowing up the run play. However, Walker did have a 33-yard run on third-and-one earlier in the game, and Mahomes noted that 'whenever stuff's not pretty, you've got to be able to just push it and get the first down,' suggesting the Chiefs' short-yardage execution is inconsistent. The source notes Walker's 13-yard run was paved by left guard Kingsley Suamataia's blocking.
