I'm a big fan of Jarrett Stidham as our backup. If Nix goes down, he's a very capable QB who knows Payton's system (and that's something!) and has enough experience to not be completely overwhelmed.

Stidham is capable backup who knows Payton's system; benching Nix for him would backfire.

Jarrett Stidham is identified as the Broncos' backup QB. The article notes he is a capable backup who knows Sean Payton's system and has enough experience to not be overwhelmed if called upon, but benching Nix in favor of Stidham would be a knee-jerk reaction that would likely worsen performance and damage team morale.
