Wentz's 2021 Colts season: 27 TDs, 7 INTs, 9-8 record; likely inferior to Stafford's potential.

Carson Wentz was the Colts' actual 2021 QB choice after they failed to acquire Stafford. Wentz threw 27 touchdowns and 7 interceptions in 2021, helping the Colts rank ninth in scoring, but the team finished 9-8 and missed the playoffs. The source implies Stafford would have been worth at least two additional wins over Wentz's performance. Wentz later backed up Stafford in Los Angeles in 2023.
