Yahoo Sports NFL on Jaylen Waddle
From the article
Waddle has 228 receiving yards this season. Of those, 138 came against Jacksonville in Week 2. That leaves 90 yards across his other five games. Eighteen yards per game. That is brutal... Waddle drew seven targets in Week 6 and turned them into four catches for 24 yards.
STACKED’s take
Waddle's 18 yards per game outside Week 2 and broken Broncos passing game warrant benching.
Jaylen Waddle has 228 receiving yards through six games, with 138 of those coming against Jacksonville in Week 2, leaving just 90 yards across his other five games (18 yards per game). Over Weeks 4-6, he caught 11 passes for 78 yards with a longest reception of 13 yards. Despite drawing seven targets in Week 6, he converted them into only four catches for 24 yards. The Broncos' passing game is fundamentally broken with Bo Nix averaging 5.6 yards per attempt and throwing for just 107 yards on 27 attempts against Seattle. J.J. McCarthy says Waddle should be benched regardless of draft position, as respectable target counts are not translating into production.
