NFL.com News on Sam Darnold

ArticleQB rankings, 1-32: Prescott hits season low; Stroud eclipses MahomesQB rankings...Captured October 21, 2026

From the article

It would be fair to place a suddenly turnover-prone Sam Darnold behind Kyler Murray, but with Minnesota on bye, 20 is as far as Darnold will fall -- for now.

STACKED’s take

Negative signalProjection

Darnold's turnover issues and over-reliance on JSN limit Tier 4 upside.

Darnold is suddenly turnover-prone and placed in Tier 4 of the QB rankings; Seattle needs better play from its offensive line and to diversify the offense beyond its disproportionate reliance on Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and Darnold needs to calm his feet when JSN isn't instantly open. A running game would help, too.
