Winston benched after four starts, returns to backup role mentoring McCarthy.

Winston was signed by the Giants as a backup quarterback and started four games after Jaxson Dart suffered a season-ending knee injury, but was benched in favor of J.J. McCarthy in Sunday's loss to the Saints and will return to the bench as the Giants head to Houston. Winston stated he understands his current role and will embrace whatever the Giants ask him to do, which may include mentoring another young quarterback similar to his role a year ago.
