So how do the Lions counter the Packers trio of impactful skill players? They welcome back Brian Branch. On most plays, I fully expect Branch to play at safety, helping either Chuck Clark or Keith Abney II patrol the secondary, but when the Lions get the Packers into X-and-long situations where Love will want to go deep, I believe the Lions can shift into three-safety sets, run the double teams on Golden and Watson, and drop Branch into a coverage role on Kraft.
