Walker's career year has transformed Chiefs rushing attack to league-leading efficiency.

Walker has emerged as a centerpiece of the Chiefs' offensive revitalization after signing as a free agent following his Super Bowl MVP season with Seattle. The 26-year-old is having a career year and has progressed from "good player" to "maybe the Offensive Player of the Year" candidate. The Chiefs rank first in rushing yards per carry at 5.5 yards (ahead of second-place Bills at 5.1), a dramatic improvement from bottom-half status last season, with Walker driving much of that production.
