Positive signalUsage

Black nearly out-snapped McCaffrey (34-31) in his opportunity; highest-upside bench option if available.

Black got the run game for a major portion of the 49ers' loss to the Falcons while Christian McCaffrey dealt with a thigh injury. The rookie back nearly out-snapped McCaffrey 34-31. McCaffrey said his leg 'just died on me,' which is not ideal but doesn't forecast major missed time. With the 49ers heading to a bye, there's limited reason to believe Black starts in Week 9, but he's one of the highest-upside bench players in the league if available.
