Fields' 4 rec, 83 yards in Week 7 signals emergence as Giants' No. 2 WR with McCarthy at QB.
Malachi Fields doubled his previous output on Sunday with 4 receptions (after catching exactly 2 passes in each of his first 6 career games) for 83 receiving yards, a season and career high, coinciding with improved quarterback play from J.J. McCarthy. He's now topped 50 yards in 2 of his last 4 games. The Giants offense hit a groove this week, and Fields played a big part. His production will vary week to week as Malik Nabers and Isaiah Likely demand targets, but the 6-foot-4 rookie looks like an NFL No. 2 WR and will stay in that role for the G-Men.
