Niners Nation on Brock Purdy
From the article
Primary among the negative plays were Purdy's two interceptions. Purdy has thrown two or more picks in a game just 11 times in his career, so that's not something you expect, especially after the hot start.
STACKED’s take
Two interceptions reveal lapses in coverage recognition and decision-making.
Purdy's decision-making and field vision have faltered in recent weeks. Against Atlanta, he threw two interceptions—a rarity in his career (just 11 times in 40+ games). The first came on a coverage disguise he normally handles well; he failed to throw the ball away and instead allowed Jessie Bates III to make a sideline toe-tap catch. The second, with 2:42 left and the 49ers down 26-20, was a critical mistake: he missed linebacker Kendal Daniels dropping from the line of scrimmage into coverage and threw into his zone, resulting in a deflection and interception to Jordan Watkins. Purdy acknowledged both errors postgame, noting he must learn to throw the ball away and better recognize disguised coverage and dropping linebackers.
