Mahomes downplays past kicker conflict as routine competitive behavior.

Mahomes downplayed the January 2024 incident with Justin Tucker ahead of the AFC championship game, characterizing it as routine competitive behavior rather than lasting conflict. He stated he and Tucker 'haven't had a lot of conversations' and that 'it wasn't like we ever had any beef or anything like that,' framing the interaction as 'just competitors being competitors.' Mahomes acknowledged Tucker's status as 'a big-time kicker for a long time' and his competitive drive to help the Ravens reach the Super Bowl, indicating he understood Tucker's perspective and has moved past the incident.
