He was picked by Seattle in the second round of the 2022 draft, but for most his career, Walker shared duties in the backfield with Zach Charbonnet, whom the Seahawks picked in the second round the following year. Walker transitioned from committee back in Seattle to featured role with Chiefs.

Walker became Kansas City's singular feature back after joining the team as a free agent this season, a stark contrast to his Seattle tenure where he shared backfield duties with Zach Charbonnet (2023 second-round pick) for most of his career. He only became the Seahawks' featured back late last season when Charbonnet suffered a knee injury, at which point Walker demonstrated elite production: 116 yards and three TDs in a playoff rout of the 49ers, another score against the Rams, and 135 yards with Super Bowl MVP honors against New England.
