Rookie Endries gets early backup TE opportunity with Taylor's confidence backing his readiness.

Rookie tight end out of Texas selected in the Seventh Round gets early opportunity at backup tight end position due to injuries. Zac Taylor expressed confidence in Endries' readiness, stating: 'I've got trust just watching him operate in practice and in meetings and in training camp that if needed he was going to be ready to go... I'm not nervous at all about using him. I think he's earned the opportunity.' Endries has learned three different positions and will need to fill the role Noah Fant played last year that Erick All Jr. was commanding this season, though this doesn't fit his projected skill set as a possible Mike Gesicki replacement.
