Young's reversion to middling form (209 yards, 1 TD/1 INT) threatens contract extension.

After a hot start where he was leading the league in passing yards per game not even a week ago, Young appears to be reverting to the player who struggled frequently throughout most of his first three NFL seasons. Against Carolina, he connected on 23 of 41 passes for 209 yards with one TD pass and one interception—a middling performance that's generally defined his career to date and his second poor outing in five days. He was sacked six times and hit nine times. The source notes he needs to get back to his early season form for the Panthers to be successful and if he wants to land the lucrative contract extension he's already in line for.
