Despite Detroit's pass defense being awful early in the season, the Lions got star safety Brian Branch back from an Achilles injury last week with immediate impact, and safety Kerby Joseph returned to practice this week after missing the season with a knee injury, suggesting the Lions' pass defense might no longer be a pushover.
