And then probably the most dangerous of them all is my guy back there, number one in Kyler Murray. If you let him out of that pocket, he can hurt you.

Murray's scramble ability is dangerous, but Lions aim to contain him in pocket where he struggles.

Murray is fourth in the NFL with a scramble rate of 9.9% for quarterbacks with at least 10 dropbacks; the Lions' defensive coordinator Kelvin Sheppard identified him as 'probably the most dangerous' threat in the Vikings offense and emphasized the need to contain him in the pocket. While Murray ranks 27th overall in EPA/play at -0.09 amongst quarterbacks with at least 100 dropbacks, he has an EPA/play of -0.04 outside the pocket, which ranks eighth best. Against Indianapolis in Week 7, Murray struggled to sit in the pocket, read the defense, and deliver an accurate ball, with most offensive success predicated on designer plays or off-script improvisation. The Lions' key to victory is to maintain front-seven discipline to force Murray to play a style of game he is least comfortable in.
