STACKED’s take
Goff's precision on under-center dropbacks and play-action exploits Vikings' blitz vulnerabilities.
All-Pro-caliber precision processor on play-action and under-center dropbacks. On under-center straight dropbacks this season, Goff has completed 6-of-9 passes (66.7% completion percentage, 6th) for 84 yards (9.3 yards per attempt, 3rd) and two touchdowns (t-2nd). Detroit ranks in the top 10 in success rate and explosive pass rate on under-center straight dropbacks. Against Minnesota's blitz-heavy defense, Goff has elite weapons in St. Brown and LaPorta who excel against pressure packages, positioning him to exploit the Vikings' vulnerability on under-center dropbacks where Minnesota has generated pressure on just 13.3% of such plays (t-27th) and allows a league-worst 6.4 yards after catch per attempt.
