Arrowhead Pride on Patrick Mahomes

Mahomes' early scrambling tendency vs. Seattle exploited by LBs on third-down looks.

In the recent game against Seattle, Mahomes showed a tendency to scramble immediately even with a clean pocket, possibly to get the first down with his legs. Seattle's defense was all over the mesh look and had linebackers ready for Mahomes' scrambling tendencies. Mahomes was hit from behind and was lucky to retain possession. This scrambling tendency on third downs is relevant context for the Chiefs' third-down execution challenges this week against Denver's strong third-down defense.
