Hurts sidelined with bilateral pulmonary emboli; expected out for season.

Jalen Hurts was diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis and bilateral pulmonary emboli (blood clots in both lungs) ahead of Week 6. He initially had a superficial vein thrombosis diagnosed while in London for Week 5 but was cleared to play; he later underwent imaging that revealed the clot had progressed to deep vein thrombosis with clots moving to his lungs—a potentially lethal situation. Treatment with blood thinners will disqualify him from contact activities for several months, and the expectation is he will miss at least the remainder of the 2026 season.
