"You have to be able to retain and take in a ton of information... He's the orchestrator... Kyle is demanding, and Brock can take that without taking it personally... He's extremely talented... He's competitive. I think, this year, he kind of took it personally that people are saying he's a layer thrower. I'm seeing him come out with shoulder turn and driving the ball this year."

Lynch praises Purdy's elite QB traits, mechanical growth, and fit with Shanahan's system.

49ers GM John Lynch characterizes Purdy as an elite QB with exceptional information retention and play-calling orchestration under Kyle Shanahan's demanding system. Lynch highlights Purdy's ability to extend plays consistently, competitive drive, and year-over-year mechanical improvement—specifically noting Purdy took criticism about being a layer thrower personally and responded by adding shoulder turn and driving the ball downfield. Lynch emphasizes Purdy's greatest quality is thriving under Shanahan's demanding coaching without taking it personally, and identifies him among "the great ones" who identify weaknesses and execute fixes.
