Yahoo Fantasy Football on Emmett Johnson

Emmett Johnson's 187-yard breakout establishes him as elite bench stash for Chiefs.

Rookie running back had a breakout performance against Denver with 5 receptions for 128 yards and 1 TD, plus 1 carry for 15 yards. Johnson scored on the Chiefs' longest TD play since Tyreek Hill in 2021. His 187-yard outburst featured elite efficiency metrics: 1.2 air yards per target, 12.8 yards per route run, and 24.4 YAC per reception. He broke six tackles across six touches and is emerging as an explosive weapon for the 5-2 Chiefs. As the ideal backup to Kenneth Walker III with both rushing and receiving skills, he should be considered a bench stash despite single-game variance in rate stats.
