Yahoo Sports NFL on Carson Wentz

Wentz is a one-year rental, not a long-term Vikings solution.

Carson Wentz is on a one-year deal with the Vikings and is not viewed as a long-term answer at quarterback, similar to Kyler Murray. The source notes that with both Murray and Wentz on expiring contracts and no other QBs under contract beyond 2026, the Vikings will likely need to pursue a quarterback in the 2027 draft.
