Negative signalProjection

McCarthy's ceiling is limited; needs elite coordinator to develop further.

The source is skeptical of JJ McCarthy's long-term prospects despite some excitement around him. McCarthy threw for 250 yards on 28 passes with no touchdowns against Houston, and the source believes he is limited in what he can become unless he lands a coordinator who can significantly elevate his game. The source does not expect McCarthy to have a long career.
