Minshew's quick release and game-winning OT drive neutralized Cowboys' defense.

Minshew's entry into the game for the Cardinals neutralized the Cowboys' coverage-first, pass-rush defense that had been working well against Jacoby Brissett. He went 24-40 for 355 yards and two touchdowns in week 16 of 2022 against the Cowboys, and in this game added three more passing touchdowns, 188 more yards, was sacked once, and led a game-winning drive in overtime. His quick release and ability to get the ball out of his hands quickly, combined with the Cardinals' improved run game, slowly took control of the game and neutralized the Cowboys' pass rush.
