Monangai expected to return Week 9 after missing 4 games; flex appeal.

Monangai missed a fourth straight game with toe and thumb injuries in Week 8, which has surprised fantasy managers and the Bears. The fact that Chicago almost certainly would have put Monangai on injured reserve weeks ago if it expected him to miss four games suggests he may finally return to action in Week 9. Monangai may be the Bears' best pure runner, combining a physical running style with the potential for long runs. D'Andre Swift has averaged 3.2 yards on 74 carries over the past four games in Monangai's absence. With the team coming off a short week, head coach Ben Johnson will surely be open to reducing Swift's workload, which would make Monangai an appealing flex option against the Bucs if he returns. The Bucs are excellent against the run, but a Bears offense that ranks second in rushing yards per game will give them their toughest test thus far.
