Davis: no pressure to start Mendoza; Cousins bridge allows learning without rushed development.

Raiders owner Mark Davis stated there is 'absolutely no pressure whatsoever' from ownership to start Mendoza immediately despite being the No. 1 overall pick. Davis emphasized that having Kirk Cousins as a bridge allows Mendoza to learn the speed of the game and professional intricacies without being fast-tracked, preventing the limited development that can occur when young QBs are rushed onto the field. Davis praised Mendoza's off-field intangibles, work ethic, and willingness to learn, noting he is working with Tom Brady on development. Mendoza has appeared in one game this season, completing 6-of-8 passes for 48 yards in mop-up duty in Week 5.
