In the meantime, Jefferson has lost his fantasy WR1 label. He's a boom-bust WR2 while the Vikings dip to 31st in passing yards per game on the No. 25 neutral pass rate.
STACKED’s take
Jefferson demoted to boom-bust WR2; Murray's inaccuracy and O'Connell's scheme leave him exposed.
Jefferson has lost his fantasy WR1 label and is now a boom-bust WR2 due to systemic offensive issues. Kevin O'Connell is not protecting Jefferson adequately when teams double him; the Lions used outside leverage with a cornerback at the line and sank a safety to the inside in Week 8, a defensive scheme Jefferson isn't overcoming through stacks, motion, or backside concepts. Kyler Murray has shown more inaccuracies this year than before, particularly on intermediate timing-paced routes to Jefferson, and has missed touchdown opportunities. Jefferson dropped a pass and could have made a highlight grab up the seam in the past game. Over his last 17 games, he has a 78-855-5 receiving line for a 50 yards-per-game average, down from 96 YPG before that. The Vikings rank 31st in passing yards per game on the No. 25 neutral pass rate, and Jefferson's frustrations may spill over if the situation doesn't improve.
