Bleeding Green Nation on Johnny Mundt

Mundt traded to Vikings after losing TE2 job to returning Stowers and Calcaterra.

Mundt was traded to the Vikings along with a 2027 seventh-round pick in exchange for a 2027 sixth-round pick. He was losing his TE2 job in Philadelphia as rookie Eli Stowers and veteran Grant Calcaterra returned from injured reserve. Mundt played a season-low 13 snaps in the Eagles' loss to the Commanders on Sunday night before the trade. The Vikings pursued him as a strong blocking tight end after Josh Oliver's season-ending injury in Week 3, and Mundt has familiarity with Vikings coach Kevin O'Connell from his 2022-2024 tenure in Minnesota.
