Yahoo Sports NFL on Caleb Williams

Hamstring injury sidelined Williams for three games, derailing early MVP momentum.

Caleb Williams suffered a hamstring injury that kept him out of three games, which derailed early-season MVP buzz that had been amplified following the Bears' 59-point explosion in Week 1. In the post-merger era since 1970, only one player (Joe Montana in 1989) has missed three games and still won the NFL MVP award, making Williams' MVP path a long shot despite the recent winning streak.
