Caleb Williams positioned as elite QB with proven chemistry; compared to Walsh/Montana and Reid/Mahomes.

Caleb Williams is positioned as the franchise quarterback central to the Bears' Super Bowl aspirations. The source emphasizes that unlike the 2018 Trubisky/Nagy pairing which lacked proof of concept, the Ben Johnson/Caleb Williams combination had a full year to develop and showed improvement through part of 2026, establishing the Bears as firmly in the postseason mix thanks to the offense. The pairing is compared favorably to historic championship QB/coach duos like Walsh/Montana and Reid/Mahomes, suggesting elite-level potential.
