Deshaun Watson has been placed in concussion protocol, the team announced on Wednesday. According to the Browns, Watson took a helmet-to-helmet hit during the first quarter of Sunday's loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. There currently is no timeline for a return.

Deshaun Watson was placed in concussion protocol after taking a helmet-to-helmet hit in the first quarter of Sunday's loss to Pittsburgh; he was initially cleared by the Unaffiliated Neurotrauma Consultant after missing four snaps but reported concussion symptoms on Tuesday morning. Watson threw for 324 yards in the 27-6 loss but was sacked eight times, extending his league-leading total to 33 sacks this season. There is currently no timeline for his return ahead of Week 9 against New Orleans.
