Yahoo Sports NFL on Shedeur Sanders

Sanders poised to start vs. worst-ranked Saints defense if Watson fails protocol.

Sanders is positioned to start against the Saints if Watson does not clear the concussion protocol. This represents his first start of the 2026 NFL season and comes against a Saints defense ranked among the worst in the NFL, followed by a four-game home stretch for the Browns. The source notes this is a unique opportunity for Sanders to shift the narrative around the quarterback situation after Watson's 5-3 start with five game-winning drives.
