Yahoo Sports NFL on Lamar Jackson

Jackson's thumb injury and durability history complicate Ravens' extension plans.

Lamar Jackson is out indefinitely with a thumb injury. Assuming Jackson is done for the season, his $84 million cap hit in 2027 is an albatross for Baltimore, which could give the Ravens justifiable hesitance about giving him a top-of-the-market extension because of durability concerns. Jackson has missed four or more games in four of the last six seasons, marking his fourth missed game this season.
