STACKED’s take
McCarthy elevated to Giants QB1; Brooks sees 'game manager plus' with winning pedigree and offensive weapons to succeed.
After looking good off the bench in week six, J.J. McCarthy is now QB1 for the Giants following a trade before week four. Bucky Brooks characterizes him as a 'game manager plus' who played at Michigan with a 27-1 winning pedigree under John Harbaugh's brother. With the Giants, he will manage the moment and make plays with his legs when available, functioning as a distributor in an offense featuring Malik Nabors (three straight 100-yard games) and Isaiah Likely controlling the middle of the field. Brooks believes if the Giants can get the running game going to complement their defense, McCarthy can win and win big in New York.
