Spagnuolo: Mahomes has bailed us out, but we shouldn't need late heroics.

Defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo acknowledged that Patrick Mahomes has bailed out the offense multiple times over his eight years with the team, but the defense recognizes they should not put the offense in situations requiring late-game heroics. This reflects the Chiefs' defensive accountability after allowing two fourth-quarter touchdowns in 11 plays against Denver despite holding an 11-point lead entering the fourth quarter.
